I will quit the app but it will continue, I will even force quit the process but it comes right back still at 170% or higher. Then coreaudiod process will spike the CPU at 200% or more and cause the temp to rise so high.

This seems to start when I am using the tv app on macOS and then go to the store tab and click on a film there to purchase and it will be playing a movie preview in the window. I can't remember if it was going on with the previous OS. My MBP is fairly new (less than one year old) and on top of that, I got it cleaned from all the internal dust less than 3 weeks ago. I plugged out the cable and it came back to normal in a matter of seconds. Today I plugged in my display port cable like any other day and after a few minutes, my MBP became pretty much unusable due to kernel_task using over 700% of my cpu.

This afternoon I started getting this really annoying issue on my MBP 16" (2019). Kernel_task process takes 700% of my cpu when I plug in my external monitor Hello, An important point here is that I made this report without any active Skype sessions and without connecting one of the external monitors, If I would try to do this the MacBook would be too slow to even create the report.Īny advice is highly appreciated. However, currently I am working on the macbook without Skype and external monitors and everything is (still) working perfectly fine. Meaning that even the simplest task are impossible to do on the Macbook. After about 10 minutes kernal_task(0) (used to prevent the Macbook from overheating) starts to take up > 100% of the CPU. However, after let's say 5 minutes the laptops performance drastically decreases. If I connect my MacBook to one of the external monitors for the first three minutes everything is OK.

  • 1 week ago, I had to unplug both external monitors.
  • The laptop becomes extremely hot, therefore I made the decision to join the Skype session with my IPhone instead.
  • 3 weeks ago, doing any other tasks on the laptop while Skyping is near to impossible.
  • Therefore, I decided to unplug one of the two monitors.
  • 5 weeks ago I noticed that the laptop becomes very slow when connected to both external monitors.
  • 7 weeks ago I noticed that my MacBook performance drastically decreases while Skyping with my colleagues.
  • However, I started noticing the following performance drops in the last 7 weeks: Usually, I have an active Skype session 2 hours a day.

    I am running the following setup: I have two HP Z24N external monitors connected to my macbook Pro with HDMI (both Displays have separate spaces). The problem started occurring 7 weeks ago and is becoming a little worse each day.ħ weeks ago everything was still working perfectly and smooth. Hi everyone! In the last couple of weeks I have noticed a major drop in performance of my Macbook while running certain processes.
